Multimedia Signal Processing Group      

The Multimedia Signal Processing Group of the Lisbon site of Instituto de Telecomunicações, located in the Instituto Superior Técnico campus, has the objective of developing technology in the areas of visual information analysis, modeling, processing, manipulation, representation, coding and description. These technologies have assumed growing importance in the past years with the digitization of audiovisual communications and the consideration of new requirements such as interactivity and synthetic and natural content integration.

One of the major targets of the Multimedia Signal Processing Group is to participate in national and international research and development projects. In fact, the Multimedia Signal Processing Group continuously tries to find the best balance between academic, project and standardization activities.
