Future EevolutionVOIP - It is one of the easiest and cheapest ways of communication. VOIP basically converts your voice in to digital signal that travels over the internet and enables you to make calls to PC or telephones. If you are calling at a regular telephone then VOIP converts the digital signals in to regular telephone signals. VOIP is gaining popularity because its price is very cheap, quality is unquestionable and features are innumerable. The first Voice over Internet protocol call was made back in 1995 between two PCs. In a short span of three years, VoIP was established as a means of providing low cost and high quality long distance calls. It was estimated to carry just 1% of the phone traffic. Fast forward to 1998 and now VOIP is estimated to host 30 % of the total long distance communication in the world. In fact, it has revolutionized the ways residential and business telecommunication is undertaken. In the business world, VOIP has given a wide range of option of telecommunication. It helps in consistent and well-featured voice service to end users regardless of their locality. The main attraction of VOIP is its low price of setup and calling. The long distance calling packages are free to the VOIP users, which has made it irresistible to users. The VOIP service providers are striving hard to keep the costs low in order to retain the market of users. Initially, the VOIP service was confined to the desktops, laptops or PCs. With the advent of Wi-Fi, people were able stroll around their homes and offices and make calls at the same time as long as they stayed within the range of the signals. The future plans of VOIP service providers is to even loose these insubstantial bonds and enable consumers to make VOIP calls from their cell phones. Many VOIP providers have caught up on this particular need of consumers and are providing VOIP services over cell phone, cars and other mobile locations with collaboration of wireless internet. In order to maintain their market, VOIP providers are working hard to keep costs low and provide a level of personalized customer service. The market demand is heating up for support of wireless VoIP applications, and the VOIP service providers are also extending their offerings on a continuous basis. Very few other technologies have grown as much as Voice over Internet Protocol in a very short span of time. People are getting drawn to this inexpensive, high quality and easy to use way to communicate. The VOIP users have grown in numbers, reaching triple digits in a short span of a couple of years. The future of VOIP as a substitute to regular phone is very bright as VOIP service providers are striving to add more features including nomadic or mobile features and to extend the range of terminals offered. We expect to see a wide range of different value added services to VOIP in the coming years. So, it looks like it is only a matter of time that VOIP will be substituted for regular phones. VOIP service plans are less expensive than traditional phone system costs. |
